Steve Messier is an administrator, curriculum developer, former school board commissioner, and certified A.L.I.C.E school-safety instructor. With nearly 20 years of experience working directly with students who exhibit a variety of challenging behaviors, Steve has focused on supporting students in developing social-emotional skills through a variety of experiential and relational practices. In his current role as the director of student affairs at Missisquoi Valley Union High School in Vermont, Steve provides support on issues related to student behavior, conflict resolution, bullying and harassment education, and school safety training. He is the founder of Social Emotional Learning of Vermont, LLC, which focuses on enhancing student agency, skill acquisition, and personal safety through social-emotional awareness and development in both traditional and alternative school settings.
