Channa Cook-Harvey, PhD, is the executive director of district and school support at the Sacramento County Office of Education where she leads the team providing technical assistance, professional development, and other customized support to school districts. Prior to this, Channa was director of social-emotional learning at Folsom Cordova Unified School District. There, she designed and led the implementation of a district-wide approach to meeting the needs of the whole child. As a senior researcher at the Learning Policy Institute in Palo Alto, California, she co-led qualitative education research studies focused on social-emotional learning, whole-child approaches to schooling, and trauma-informed practices. Channa holds a master of arts in education and teaching and a doctorate in philosophy from Stanford University, along with a master of science degree in educational leadership from Pepperdine University.
