Donna Pereira has worked in special education since 2009 and currently serves as a high school special education teacher. Prior to her current role, she spent more than a decade teaching at the elementary level. Throughout her career, Donna has supported students with a wide range of learning disabilities and physical challenges, bringing deep expertise in meeting diverse learning needs.
Donna is particularly passionate about advancing educational equity for students impacted by trauma and supporting learners at the intersection of ADHD and co-occurring conditions, including anxiety, autism, cognitive disengagement, and dyslexia. She is committed to helping all students access meaningful educational opportunities and achieve success both in and out of the classroom.
Outside of her professional work, Donna is an enthusiastic Unified Basketball coach, supporting a Special Olympics program that brings athletes with and without intellectual disabilities together on the same competitive team. She is a mother of four and resides in Vermont.
