This Policy applies to personal data collected through our website, the Educator Portal, training programs, evaluations, communications, events, and nonprofit operations. Educators may optionally enter limited student information into the Educator Portal when using assessment or gradebook features. This information is entered at the discretion of the educator or school and is not required to access curriculum resources. Changing Perspectives does not directly solicit student data and relies on schools and educators to obtain any required parental or guardian consent under applicable law.

Changing Perspectives does not store credit card numbers or banking details. All payments are processed securely by third-party payment processors, including Stripe, Givebutter, PayPal, or Zeffy.

We do not use advertising cookies or remarketing tools.

6. Photography, Video, and Media Use
Group Settings
We may capture photos or video of group trainings, workshops, or events where individuals appear incidentally and are not the primary focus. This processing is carried out under legitimate interest.
Individual Subjects
We obtain written consent via a Media Release Form when a person is the primary subject of a photo or video, when close-up images are used, or when testimonials or other promotional materials are created.
Minors
We require documented parent or guardian consent before collecting or using media that identifies a minor.
Storage
Media files are stored securely in Google Workspace. Media containing special category data is stored only in restricted-access folders.
7. Special Category Data
Changing Perspectives may collect demographic information such as race/ethnicity, gender identity, or disability identity only when an individual voluntarily provides this information for testimonial or representation purposes. This data is collected only with explicit consent, stored with restricted access, and may be deleted upon request.
8. Data Sharing and Third-Party Processors
We share personal data only with third-party processors necessary to deliver our services, including:

In addition to the processors listed above, personal data may also be accessible to other authorized users associated with the same school or organizational account, such as educators or administrators designated by the school. In limited circumstances, we may disclose personal data when required to comply with applicable law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Changing Perspectives and its users. We may also share de-identified or aggregated information that does not identify individuals.
9. Cookies and Website Analytics
Changing Perspectives uses limited cookies and similar technologies to support basic website functionality and understand how visitors interact with our website. We use Google Analytics 4 to collect aggregated, privacy-focused analytics data, such as page views and general usage patterns.
We do not use cookies for advertising, remarketing, or user profiling purposes. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use tracking technologies to deliver targeted advertising.

Changing Perspectives does not directly collect personal data from children. However, educators or schools using the Educator Portal may choose to enter limited student information when using optional assessment or gradebook features. In these cases, Changing Perspectives relies on schools and educators to obtain any required parental or guardian consent and to provide any required disclosures under applicable law.
Student data entered into the Educator Portal is processed solely for educational purposes and is not used for marketing, advertising, profiling, or unrelated activities. If you believe that student data has been entered without appropriate consent, please contact us immediately at info@cpne.org.
11. International Data Transfers
Changing Perspectives is located in the United States. Personal data may be transferred to and processed in the U.S. We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards for international transfers where required.
12. Data Retention
Changing Perspectives retains personal data indefinitely unless an individual requests deletion. This supports long-term program operations, donor stewardship, reporting, and institutional history.
- Educator Portal account information and usage data: retained indefinitely unless deletion is requested.
- General program and communications data: retained indefinitely unless deletion is requested.
- Media files: retained indefinitely unless consent is revoked.
- Special category data: retained only as long as needed for communications purposes or until consent is withdrawn.
- Donation records: retained indefinitely for financial, operational, and historical purposes.
