We are excited to announce that we have been awarded a Peninsula Health Care District Grant on January 30, 2025, to support youth mental health through school-based social-emotional learning initiatives. This vital funding will allow us to expand programs that equip students with essential skills to manage emotions, build resilience, and foster overall well-being.

Addressing a Critical Need

Mental health challenges among youth are on the rise, making early intervention and support more crucial than ever. Social-emotional learning (SEL) programs help students develop the tools to navigate challenges, develop strong interpersonal skills, and create a foundation for lifelong mental well-being. Integrating SEL into school environments provides a proactive and preventative approach to youth mental health.

Our Commitment to the Community

The Peninsula Health Care District serves the greater San Fransisco Bay Area, including the specific communities of San Bruno, Millbrae, Burlingame, Hillsborough, San Mateo, and parts of Foster City, focusing on the unique health and wellness priorities of the Peninsula. With this grant, we will strengthen our SEL programming in schools within these communities by providing teachers with the training and resources needed to help students develop essential skills that support their mental health and well-being.

How This Grant Will Make an Impact

With this generous support, we plan to:

  • Expand SEL programming in local schools to reach more students in need.
  • Train educators and staff to integrate SEL principles into everyday learning effectively.
  • Provide resources and support for students and families to reinforce SEL at home and in the community.

A Partnership for a Healthier Future

We are incredibly grateful to Peninsula Health Care District for recognizing the importance of mental health in our schools and for investing in the future of our youth. This grant will have a lasting impact, helping to create a supportive environment where students can thrive emotionally, socially, and academically.

Looking Ahead

As we implement these initiatives, we remain committed to making a difference in the lives of young people across the Peninsula and beyond. We look forward to sharing updates on our progress and the positive impact this program will have on our schools and communities.
