Deirdre Azzopardi, OTD, is a pediatric occupational therapist with 25+ years of experience working with children with disabilities in both private and public school settings. She has both a bachelor’s degree and a doctoral degree in occupational therapy as well as a master’s degree in psychology. Deirdre has extensive training in sensory integration and holds SIPT certification. A registered yoga teacher and trained mindfulness instructor, she works with both children and adults to promote equity and well-being. Deirdre has presented extensively on social-emotional learning and on using exercise and mindfulness to enhance therapeutic outcomes for children. She is a member of Changing Perspectives’s board of directors. Deirdre is the author of a peer-reviewed continuing education module published in OT Today that focuses on using cognitive behavioral techniques for children with autism spectrum disorders.
